Asin, who shot to greater fame with Dasavathaaram and Ghajini (2008), is being honoured by the International Tamil Film Awards (ITFA) with an award in the best actress category for Dasavathaaram. The ITFA was instituted to recognize, honour and applaud all who have contributed towards the Tamil film industry globally. The awards function took place in Singapore on 16th May.
