Katrina Kaif as Barbie Doll in American museum

So far she had sashayed the ramp dolled up as Barbie. Now, Katrina Kaif will be the face and body of the popular doll for the Barbie Museum in New York.

It’s an honour being bestowed on an Indian actress for the first time. Bollywood had so far made its presence felt at the Madame Tussauds’ museum in London and New York (where there’s going to be a new Bollywood zone). But Katrina has now become the first Indian beauty on whom the Barbie Doll will be modeled at the Barbie Museum.

“The customised Barbie being made for the American museum will be just like me,” Katrina is quoted by a news daily.

Katrina, who was chosen as Miss Barbie at the Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai to mark the celebration of 50 years of Barbie earlier this year, had expressed her jubilation on being selected for the honour.

“I’d call it a fun honour. To have your face on dolls that you’ve played with from childhood is quite flattering...And I think in many ways it's an endorsement of how kids connect with me,” Katrina had said.

It is one thing to be the face of Barbie dolls, but another to have a replica of Barbie modeled on you and placed in the museum for public display. Only few beauties like Beyonce Knowles and Diana Ross have received that honour. Now, Katrina joins the list.
